Design software installation

Hi

I am new with the DE2 Board and its development software. I already downloaded the Quartus II web edition 10.0sp1, Nios II 10.0, Model sim and the altera monitor program. I install the first three (in that order), but when I am going to install the altera monitor program, I got a message telling me that the Nios II needs to be installed.

If someone could guide me through the installation process, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

    make sure your SOPC_KIT_NIOS2 environment variable is set. if that doesn't work the monitor program may be looking for a specific version of the tools, check the documentation. newer software won't necessarily work
