what's the difference between .hexout and .hex ?

both are the same Intel format ?

Intel format is not a matter of file extension: it can be .hex but I've seen a few other extension used for this same format. This is simply a naming convention established by software suppliers.

A file in Intel format is any text file built according to the rules described here:
