Using SEARCH_PATH with VHDL libraries?

I can use SEARCH_PATH to point to verilog libraries (directories containing files whose names are the module names). I don't need to put the source files in the project since they are "found" via ...

Afaik, you HAVE to include all vhdl source files in your project. But Quartus tends to ignore libraries and references everything as "work"
