USB-Blaster in Ubuntu

Hello,

I am an Ubuntu user. I followed some steps from www dot philpem dot me dor uk/elec/fpga/quartus-ubuntu # 8) to let my usb blaster work. But I finally found that in Quartus 10.1, my device is recongnized as USB-Blaster[1-1.1], while in Windows, it is USB-Blaster[2-0].

Is this normal? and is there any solutions?

thanks.

    Hi,

that is no problem at all.

The same thing happens on my computers.

As long as the command "jtagconfig -n" outputs the jtag id and the nodes you don't need to care about.

The port names for USB-Blaster on Linux are based on the Kernel's idea of where the device is plugged in, so should stay the same across reboots etc.

The port names in Windows are based on the order in which the cables were found, so are less reliable. This may change, but it doesn't seem like the most important enhancement to make.
