SignalTap II Web Edition doesn't allow signal grouping ...

Indeed. v14.1.x crashes a lot in either fitter or TQ timing analysis. Just hitting recompile may result in a successful compilation. Also, timing issues jump around as well, but I think this also happened in v13.
