Quartus quits suddenly and for no apparent reason

Hello -

I have been trying to generate a Stratix V FPGA image using Quartus II 14.0. For no apparent reason, Quartus is "quitting unexpectedly" just when it starts Timing Driven synthesis - it provides no details, other than this:

Error:

Internal Error: Sub-system: SUTIL, File: /quartus/synth/sutil/sutil_partition.cpp, Line: 570

FAILED in creating pipe dl_pipertl0H8ZArE with error code 28

Any advice on what could be causing this would be highly appreciated!

If a newer version of quartus doesnt help - you'll need to raise a mysupport ticket.

Have raised one already. The problem is Quartus gives absolutely no hints as to what could be wrong. It just crashes!

    Thanks

    Dear all,

Just want to let you know that the problem got resolved. The /tmp area in the machine I was running Quartus on became full, causing the tool to crash. It worked fine after I switched to another machine.

    Thanks for your replies!
