Honored ContributorI think this is the result of switching to a new GUI architecture. Starting from 10.0, some things have become extremely painful -- pin planner for example --. Other things became dangerous; Example, when you create a new file and your try to save it, the old versions give it the name Verilog1.v by default. In the current version, it defaults to the name of your top entity. Hit save there and say goodbye to your top file.
The text editor has taken a lot of steps back too... Forget your shortcut keys... It also looks like Altera is either overwhelmed or does not see fixing the GUI as a priority. MySupport knows about issues that were there in 10.0 and still do exist in 10.1 sp1. All that said, I do think (and hope) that this is a necessary step to improving the tool; we may have to wait until release 11 to finally get back to the stability of 9 versions though. BTW, did I mention that the new pin planner GUI is painful?
