15 years ago --- Quote Start --- However I think they should also take a look sometime since in the forum you find much more information on things that are just not working right. and even worse.... in the forums you can easily find your answer by someone who had the same trouble. if you contac my support you can wait an eternity and at the end. you are left on the same place. --- Quote End --- I completely agree with rubenc on this point. I always got much more help from the forum than from support or documentation. Regarding the original post by Mabcom, I also can't understand Altera behavior: if most users want to use HDL, what's the point in keeping on upgrading (or should I say downgrading?) the schematic editor with removing or changing old software features? They could simply keep it frozen with the same old features. Or at least they can make available the old editor version also in new Quartus releases: I don't think this is a great problem with development tools whose size increases exponentially for every new release. Since I worked with Xilinx tools, too, be warned Mabcom: don't think to make your life easier on the other side. Maybe lastest ISE versions have improved, but a few years ago the schematic editor was one of the reasons which pushed me towards Altera.
