Quartus freezes when compiling and compilation takes very long.

Quartus II, which has worked perfectly up to now, started freezing for some minutes every time I click the compile button. The compilation, after un-freezing, also takes ca 6 instead of 3 minutes....

If your project is small, the additional components added by signal-tap are much larger then your system. The result is that the compile takes several times as long with signal-tap. With larger projects, the difference isn't so pronounced.
