16 years agoThere are a couple of issues that are going on with the Linux interface and Quartus II 9.1:
1. Using Linux and KDE, you can not resize the Quartus window. There is a patch available from Altera - I believe path 0.16, being fixed for 9.1 SP1 in Feb. 2. Using Linux and GNOME, the GUI appears to lock up. There is a patch for this as well, patch 0.46, also being fixed in 9.1 SP1. Altera does have the qgui solution available now as a beta, but it sounds like there may be some issues with this. This is based on the Qt framework, as EME identified. Altera will be going to the Qt framework soon - targetting 10.0. This is a more robust windowing solution than the MainWin solution. Also, they have some experience with this, as TimeQuest is already based on this framework. John
