Quartus 10sp1 web edition on windows 7, megawizard plug-in problem

Hi

Just got a new laptop with windows 7 professional, I installed quartus II 10sp1 web edition and opened my project created on Vista with q II 10.0. Targeted device is Cyclone IV GX. However the megawizard plug-in manager will not open the gxb block. Error message is 'The alt2gxb/alt4gxb megafunction functionality requires TalkBack be enabled'. Now TalkBack is most definately enabled so what is going on??

Ironically I had a simular problem with Quartus II 10.0 on windows XP laptop which I never solved. To work I transfered to a Vista desktop that worked. Now my new laptop with windows 7 is effected. Is it an install issue?

Any hints help please

I have been able to fix this. I had installed only support for Cyclone devices including the GX. But not for Stratix devices. I re-installed the Quartus II this time for all possible devices and the MegaWizard plugin manager works fine for alt2gxb now. It seems to be a problem if you don't install the Stratix device libary. I guess it is a bug with the libarys/installer. So you can't save disk space.

    Dave,

Thanks for posting up your solution as it looks like I've tripped over the same bug. Did you log it with Altera?
