QII 11.0 Web for Windows - no 64-bit?

I downloaded and installed QII V11 Web for Windows on a Win7 64-bit system where QII V10.1sp1 was happily installed and working.

The V11 install did not install a 64-bit version (the V10.1 did have 64-bit).

Does V11 not have a 64-bit version?

I also downloaded and installed the stand-alone V11 programmer to get around the other issue of no JTAG server being installed. In noticed that the programmer installer *did* install a 64-bit (bin64) folder.

Is the new V11 installer / package just busted?

thx.

As far as I know, the web edition has never officially supported a 64 bit build. The comparison of web vs subscription edition for v11.0 on the altera website (http://www.altera.com/literature/po/ss_quartussevswe.pdf) does not show 64 bit support for the web edition. I did notice that some 64 bit binaries were included with recent web editions. I have a feeling the v11.0 installer may not be busted but actually fixed.

Of course, the 32 bit version of the tools run fine on 64 bit windows. In fact, I have found that the 32 bit versions are faster than the 64 bit version. So unless your design is big enough to need more than 2 gig of RAM, you may be better of running the 32 bit version anyway.

Thanks. Strange that I have been consistenly getting both the 32-bit and 64-bit version installed by the web-edition for 9.x and 10.x versions.

    Oh well.

However, the QII 11.0 installer most definately did not install the JTAG Server so I am going to go with 'half busted' in my experience and 'half confused' for the change RE the 64-bit tools.

    Cheers,
