Problem with using VCD files

Hi everyone,

Can I store the outputs of one design block in a VCD file and use it as the stimuli of another block (suppose the inputs/outputs of these two blocks have a one-to-one connection)?

It seems to me that Modelsim User Manual says VCD files are used to re-simulate the same design.
