pin number already assigned to a node

Hi, i try to use pin planner for the first time. I want to assign an output to a specific pin , however this is not possible because this pin is already assigned to a 'node' in the list. H...

this is what i did from pin planner actually and it seems to work the pin number was given to a 'node' and i re-assigned it to an output pin...however i did not understand what is the difference between 'node' and 'pin' . The list had i/o pins plus several 'nodes' which apparently were not inside the design, maybe they are default allocations of the pin planner?
