opening message window causes fatal error in Quartus 16.0

Hi, Whenever I try to open the message window in Quartus 16.0 I get a fatal error and the tool closes. Has anyone else seen this, and does anyone know a solution?

Well, since you haven't posted any details on what error message you got, or the OS you are using it's not likely anyone will have a clue. Try uninstalling Quartus, rebooting, and then re-installing it.
