Need help designing FIR filter in Quartus II

Hi,

I'm a total noob to Quartus and am interested in designing a FIR filter. I found a link on altera's site wwwdotalteradotcom/support/examples/quartus/altmult_add.html

that has design files for creating a FIR filter (example 2). But I'm not able to figure out how these work. Can someone please guide me on how best I can use these files to create a simulation? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
