Honored Contributormodelsim as supplied in starter edition is simply a 32bit application, so you're limited to 2GB of ram.
But using 2GB is a bit of a challenge - how have you managed it? are you trying to load the entire contents of a DDR? Why not give us a hint as to what you're trying to do, and maybe we can help?
