12 years ago --- Quote Start --- Most of those IPs can be used in evaluation mode. It means that you can't flash it, and you need to keep a USB Blaster connected to the FPGA while you are using it. Except for that it is 100% functional and doesn't cost anything. For research purposes it could be enough. If you need to flash your design, you could contact the company making the IP and ask them if they have special prices for academics.
