Intel Starter Edition 2021.2 requires License?
Hi botnet01,
Yes, it required a license and it is free.
You can sign up here :
1) Go to this link https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software/programmable/quartus-prime/whats-new.html
2) Go to bottom of the page you will find
3) Choose Questasim*-Intel® FPGA Starter edition. Create license.
4) Once complete, the license will automatically sent to your email.
Thanks!
Wani

Me too.
I clicked on Questa* - Intel® FPGA Edition Software, which brings me to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software/programmable/quartus-prime/questa-edition.html, and there I clicked on License Software, which is supposed to bring me to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/support/support-resources/download/licensing/lic-index.html, but currently it redirects me to https://www.intel.com/content/altera-www/global/en_us/index/error/error500.html.
Could you find how to do it?
I don't understand how come this process is not automatic. Intel is sometimes very disappointing (and their website terrible ; in 5 min I finished twice on the error 500 web page. Plus the fact that we cannot have a password longer than 15 characters...).

And it seems that there website contains wrong information because in https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/documentation/esc1425946071433.html#mwh1410890915788, it is written :
4.4.3. Intel Quartus Prime Lite Edition and Questa*-Intel FPGA Starter Edition Software License
Intel offers the entry-level Intel® Quartus® Prime Lite Edition and Questa*-Intel® FPGA Starter Edition software. This software supports selected devices, provides limited feature support, and does not require license files.

This seems to work again now after the new self-service licensing center is now online. As stated at the bottom of https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software/programmable/quartus-prime/questa-edition.html
- Log into Self Service Licensing Center to get free one-year license. Renew in SSLC annually, after one year. Click on Evaluation and Free Licenses tab in SSLC.
