Installer hangs on Ubuntu 18.04.1

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04.1 and that one seems to have a known problem with the GUI installer which hangs at the end.

Although there are some commandline options to force installation I really want to know what the cause of the hanging of the installer is.

Can anybody give me more insight and how to fix this issue?

I remember that Ubuntu 16.04.2 did not have these issues so I guess it must have to do with a missing package or something else stupid.

(yes I know that libpng12-0 is one of them)...
