in system memory content editor

i write values in some positions in a memory and want to read it with the in system memory content editor , i find only questions marks , and it says jtag communication error , what is the cause of that ?

    What type of memory block are you trying to monitor? Did you even enable the use of ISMCE in the memory's parameter editor? Yes, details are needed.
