Does anybody run Eclipse within Ubuntu?

Thanks to this thread I was able to get the Quartus 10.1sp1 USB programmer to work in Ubuntu 10.10. However, for Nios II software development I cannot get Eclipse to recognize the USB blaster.

Is there a different USB workaround for Eclipse?
