Hi,

Right after I posted my problem of Quartus recognising my cable only sometimes, I found a temporary solution to one of my problems. I can generate SVF file in Quartus and use urjtag software to download it to the device. Works like a charm , though only a partial solution to my problem since I cannot use any other Quartus jtag features.
