I have a peculiar problem. I am using Ubuntu 9.10, Quartus 9.1 (and recently Quartus 10.0) with EZUSB-FX2 and USBBlaster emulation software from fpga4u.epfl.ch. I have added Tristan's changes etc. My problem is most of the time Quartus does not recognize the cable, though through urjtag software I can see the cable and the device in the chain etc. But once in blue moon (without making any change to the system) Quartus will all of a sudden recognize the cable and work perfectly well for hours till I shutdown Quartus.

Is there any way to see what is it that Quartus jtagd not liking? Any logs etc.?

Also, is there any way to download/program the SOF file using a jtag utility like urjtag software? I am using Linux only to program the device, actual work I do in a windows virtual machine.
