16 years agoYep, I agree. I had to run kernel version 2.6.31-19 as well.
You can run your old kernel by default by editing /boot/grub/menu.lst. The 'default' flag tells GRUB which 'title' to choose by default. Switch the value of 'default' to choose your old kernel. Most likely, the new value will be '2'. Look at the list of 'titles'. The index is zero-based.
