how to add hardware for programming

Hi How to add hardware for programming. What does auto detect do? I want to interface the altera board with Hobbes software.

Download newer software that supports Windows 7.

Go to the download center (https://www.altera.com/downloads/download-center.html). Under 'Software Selector', click on the 'Select by Device' tab and chose the appropriate version of Quartus for the device on your Altera board.
