Gray out the checkbox "Erase" and "Examine"

I'm use the program quartus ii 12.0sp2(web edition), and

target device is epm7128sqc100-15n.

(Use with usb blaster cable.)

I want to erase and examine for this device from the Programmer.

However, the check box is not enabled about "erase" and "examine" in the Programmer.

Other devices ,these checkbox are enabled, exclude max7000s devices.

Please tell me ,how to enable these checkbox.

    Starting at Quartus II 9.1. MAX7000S devices are NOT supported anymore. You need to use Quartus II 9.0 + SP2 to design on MAX7000S devices.

    Dear All,
    I have a similar problem: Gray out the checkbox of "Examine"?
    My target devices
    No 1. is Cyclone IV E (EP4CE6) using "Quartus Prime 17.1 Lite Edition".
    No 2. is MAX 3000A (EPM3064A) using "Quartus II 13.0sp1 Web Edition"
    All work well with the USB blaster JTAG tool for the Program/Configure function.


    How could I enable the Examine function?

    The reason for Gray out the checkbox of "Examine" is the chip, Cyclone IV E (EP4CE6), no flash memory inside.

    So, no data could examine out and get the disabled "Gray" function.

    The chip, MAX 3000A (EPM3064A), examined correctly the data out when connected to the JTAG cable properly.

    There is no matter with "Quartus Prime 17.1 Lite Edition" or "Quartus II 13.0sp1 Web Edition".
