Honored ContributorI have abandoned this so I am creating my own FIFO'ed UART with a avalon wrapper based on
the uart in this link (http://academic.csuohio.edu/chu_p/rtl/fpga_vlog.html) Note the sample chapter on the UART. Very handy.
