Dynamic power with PowerPlay

Hello,

I'm a new Quartus' user and in this forum too. My question is about PowerPlay. I'd like to determinate dyanamic power from my design, but I don´t want to use an stimulus vector. I've read that´s possible if I set the toggle rates, but I don´t get to do it. Is there anybody to help me, please?

Thanks in advanced.

    Ok, that's the way to do it with PowerPlay Estimator, and isn´t possible with PowerPlay Analyzer?.

    Thanks again

    You can set same toggle rates in powerplay like in power estimator. You must define a thermal model in assignments->settings->operating settings and conditions->temperature.

    You might already know this but just in case you're actually just having trouble finding things in Quartus.

    From the menu:

    Assignments->settings.

    Then down near the bottom on the left click "PowerPlay Power Analyzer Settings".

    This presents you with all the options. The bottom half contains the settings for performing estimations without a stimulus file and vectorless estimation.
