Decimal to BCD encoder

Hi. I am new to VHDL and not sure on how to write the test bench coding for a decimal to BCD encoder. Its a 8 bits input and 4 bits output. Can someone help me? Is there any resources or website I could use to better facilitate my learning in this area? Thank you.
