Thanks for the response. The reason why I can't update to UniPHY is because we already have a design with ALTMEMPHY and since our design has other high speed interfaces on it, changing UniPHY would mean that I would have to change other blocks of the design that interfaces with DDR3 as well. The existing ALTMEMPHY has 'local_ready' issue as detailed here: http://www.alterawiki.com/wiki/local_ready_signal_issues_with_altera_external_memory_controller_ip
