Conversion of EPC1 .pof to EPC2

I am taking a previous .pof that was used in a EPC1 and I am programming an EPC2 instead. What is considered the best way to convert the old file to the new? I have all the orginal design files so can I just rebuild the previous design and set it up for epc2 instead of epc1? Or is it better to just open quartus, file convert programming files and load the previous .sof file and convert it out to a epc .pof?

I am using the usb blaster to program the epc2 chip, where as the epc1 was programmed with a unsite programmer in the past.

- Side note on that, does anyone know if altera recommends using 1k pull ups on the jtag lines for the usb blaster? Can't find any reference to it....

i would use Convert Programming Files with the previous .sof

i use the Schematic Review Worksheets as my reference for pin connections. if you're using an older family that's not listed, i think the JTAG recommendations should still hold
