Call a function from a function in VHDL

Hi guys, I think this is my first post and I am glad to belong to ALTERA forums. Here is my problem: I've read some posts from other forums and I cannot find anything related to invoke a function ...

Remember that functions can only create logic and not registers. Creating complicated functions will create complicated logic that you may not being able to break up easily for pipelining and hence lowering your FMax
