analysis and synthesis turns to yellow and starts again !!

Hi all

I have run analysis and synthesis and partition merge then i expanded the design hierarchy to export post synthesis partition, i found that analysis and synthesis turned to yellow and quartus told me to run partition merge so, i ran partition merge so quartus started analysis and synthesis again !!!!

Note:nothing changed either in source files or project settings !!

What is the problem ? is it a bug with quartus ?

Hi,

I can confirm your observation. I think that is a bug in Quartus. Nevertheless I found a workaround that solves the problem with the complete recompilation. You have to mark

in "Settings" -> "Compilation Process Settings" "Use smart compilation". By doing this all is

still turned to yellow, but when you start the compilation all stages are skipped. For the strange behaviour you should send a service request to Altera.
