.sof file not been generated

I run the Quartus Prime Lite Edition 20.1 & did not see a .sof file generated (seen a .pof one). Isn't .sof generation option turned on for the MAX V 5M1270ZF256C5 I am targeting or does the toll ...

Check compilation messages to see if there was a reason why the file was not generated. Also check Assignments menu -> Device -> Device and Pin Options to check what files are supposed to get generated.
