Where can I find up to date source code for the Nios II gcc toolchain?

Searching the forums only provide links to ftp.altera.com which is a dead host.

Any .altera.com should no longer be working. You will get the latest NIOS II IDE from here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/programmable/processor/nios-ii/design-tools.html.
