EPCS flash controller frequency

Hello,

I am using a system clk of 144 MHz in a sopc design with Nios II, and I want to add an epcs flash controller in the sopc builder. Is it reasonable to change the sopc component frequency up to 50 MHz to be compatible with the frecuency of the serial flash?

There will be any problem with the rest of the system?

    you don't need to change the main Frq. just use a clock crossing bridge and clock the EPCS at say 25MHz.
