DE1 SoC I2C-1 shows i2c_designware ffc05000.i2c: controller timed out

Hi I am trying to interface Wii Nunchuck to HPS of DE1-SoC. But every time I do i2cdetect -y -r 1,I get this "i2c_designware ffc05000.i2c: controller timed out."

Please help.

    I am working with DE1 SoC and having the same error. Please do reply if you have found the solution.
