Multi-rate Ethernet Byte order

The Multi-rate Ethernet IP for Arria V uses a 2 byte data bus. Is the first word of the packet contained in bits 7:0 or is it in bits 15:8 ?

Hope below reply helped.

  • Bits 7:0: First byte of the packet (e.g., Destination MAC address, first byte)
  • Bits 15:8: Second byte of the packet
