Can the Agilex7 E-tile be used for UALink?

UALink have made modifications to the 802.3 PCS/PMA, e.g. align Flits to RS(544,514) codewords, 64B/66B encoding, etc.
Is it still possible to implement UALink on top of the E-tile 802.3 hard PHY?

    Hi,

I understand you’re inquiring about support for a modified PCS to enable UALink functionality within the E-Tile Hard PCS. For your reference, the E-Tile Hard PCS is designed to comply strictly with the IEEE 802.3 protocol and does not support customization or modification of its PCS layer.

As a potential workaround, you might consider bypassing the Hard PCS by using the PMA Direct mode and implementing your own Soft PCS to meet the UALink requirements.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or need further clarification.

    Best regards,

    Chee Pin
