What do I need to read/program M4A5 ispMACH device?

Hi I have some old bespoke equipment that includes this device, and this component has failed on a few units, so I'd like to replace the device & copy the configuration over from a good unit. ...

You know you are replying to a thread that is 9 years old, right?

That being said, if you have ispMACH devices to program you should visit the vendor's site (Lattice).

Altera/Intel is not going to provide you any relevant solutions.
