What are Advanced Devices (Stratix IV GX and GT)

I am looking at the device listing for Stratix IV GX and GT devices and see that some have (Advanced) listed after their part numbers. I notice that they are H40 packages instead of F40 packages. I...

in a future release an Advanced device will lose the (Advanced) tag once it is characterized etc.
