Viterbi algorithm: Cost of edition, learning of cost

Hi all, please, does anyone knows where could i find some documents about the evaluation of edition (insertion, substitution, deletion) costs in the case of the Viterbi algorithm, and also about the learning of theses costs? Thank you.
