Honored Contributoryou might want to look at using a pll to generate the right clock speed
you have a 27MHz clock on the DE1 board which you can use to drive the Pll pll's can be generated by megawizards does that mean anything? look for PLL and mega wizard post back how you get on, and i'll help you a bit more if you can ask the right questions! (I have already done all this, I just want to make sure you look for yourself Thats what this forum has always done for me, and it works and I always learn more that way)
