USB Blaster Driver Download

Trying to install the USB Blaster driver for Vista Business 32bit, and having some difficulties *cough*.

I follow the instructions from here :

....altera.com/support/software/drivers/usb-blaster/dri-usb-blaster-vista...

, locate the folder and click next (step 7), but I get the error message saying 'could not find driver software', even though it seems to have the correct folder.

So when I check the documentation, it says that if the driver is not in the directory to download it

page 12 : ...altera.com/literature/ug/ug_usb_blstr...

and then to do this, it gives a link leading to instructions for installing it WITHOUT downloading. :eek:

    Figured it out ... no thanks to Vista !

    I was installing Quartus II on my old laptop with XP, and the way it prompted for the USB driver file seemed to suggest that it wasn't looking for the x32 to be selected, but the folder above that, the usb-blaster folder (or whatever it was). This worked.

    So I tried selecting the same level folder on my Vista version, and this worked. Well, I can't help but think this could have been a ~tad~ clearer (and would have saved a good few hours for me), but still, Quartus II is brilliant value nonetheless.
