16 years ago --- Quote Start --- It's in a few mA range. You should expect a defective USB-Blaster or cable causing the damage. It's a good idea however to provide some kind of protection, e.g. a PTC fuse if the output isn't short-circuit proof. --- Quote End --- thank you FvM for your reply. If we exclude defective USB-Blaster, could this kind of damage occur due to PCB design error or some kind of malfunction in Stratix III to pull more current from the JTAG header while being configured through the USB Blaster. -Susantha
