Hello, Is the SOPC Builder only for Nios II processor?? I have downloaded a Soft-Core Processor from opencores.org, which i'm considering to work with it in SOPC Builder.
In the first place, SOPC Builder designs do not necessarily have a processor. Except in that case, it would be better to have the design code written in HDL itself.
Second, NIOS II processor is completely compatible with Avalon bus which is what SOPC Builder uses. Third, SOPC builder gives you an option to add new components wherein you can add your own HDL designs of a microprocessor. You can use this feature to add your downloaded HDL design to SOPC Builder. It will ask you to specify a series of options for the new design. Regards, Kumar Vijay Mishra.
