16 years agoPS2 controller to USB project on Cyclone UP3 Board
I'm currently in a Digital Design Lab class at Georgia Southern University. In this class we are using Quartus II and the Cyclone UP3 board.
For our final project, we chose to do a PS2 controller to USB adapter, similar in functionality to the devices already on the market. Upon researching the PS2 controller, it seems that its not going to be as easy as previously thought. It would greatly help my group if I could find either a VHDL or design file of a PS2 decoder chip that we could use as a reference. The PS and PS2 controllers are well understood and there are many examples of projects using these controllers available on the web. We mainly need help implementing these in VHDL in Quartus. Also, it would appear that USB is even more complex than interfacing a PS2 controller. I have purchased a book on USB device development, but having some example circuits to work from would help speed up the process. I am using Quartus II 8.0 and the Cyclone EP1C12Q240C8 UP3 board with a USB1T1A USB 1.1 transceiver chip.
