Honored ContributorIf I use LVDS as the communication interface between two chips, should the power supply of the I/O bank of the two chips be exactly the same? For example, the power supply of the I/O bank of the first chip is 2.5V but the other one is 3.3V, can they work normally?
Honored ContributorPower supplies of the two chips don't have to be exactly the same, as long as both of them comply to LVDS specifications. It would be better to use AC coupling to account for the transmitter and receiver common mode voltage variation. It's like two individuals, who can have entirely different physical characteristics (e.g, varying appetite), but can still communicate, if they speak a common language.
