Number of obtained multipliers from one DSP in Stratix II

The S2G manual tells about the number of Multilpliers , one could obtain from onw DSP :

■ Eight 9 × 9-bit multipliers

■ Four 18 × 18-bit multipliers

■ One 36 × 36-bit multiplier

Somehow I expected to Sixteen 9x9's ?

    Do you have a question that you are asking?

    Re look at the way that the 9 x 9 multipliers are combined to get to the 36 x 36 and it might become clearer?
